How do I ensure that I get all the bugs off of a black vehicle. I use to use the "bug pad" deal, I do not want to scratch the finish.
Please reply
Thanks

Try claying the area affected.

Throw your bug pad away.
After washing your car, if the buggies are still there. Spray them with bug and tar remover. I use a terri cloth for bug removal. Might not be as kind as a MF, but I`m not trashing my MF on getting bugs off. Don`t scrub. Let the solvent do it`s job. If you have to do it twice, go ahead. Then rewash to get the Bug n` Tar remover off.
The way you make sure you have all the bugs off is by sitting down and looking at it close up.
Claying is a good idea too. Bear in mind, bug guts etch paint bigtime. The bugs may be off, but they took your clearcoat with them.

One more vote for claying. Just be gentle and use lots of lube. Even if you get a little marring, it won`t be as bad as the etched sort of marring you can get from bug guts.

Any good bug and tar removal products out there? What do you recommend?

I have this one http://www.superiorcarcare.net/stontar.html and it does a good job. Could also try this one http://store.yahoo.com/classic-motoring/porteqinrem.html I hear it is pretty decent.
