I washed my MFs in the washing machine with the appropriate liquid detergent and added some distilled white vinegar, and they came out with dirt particles and stuff still stuck to them. I tried picking the pieces off one at at time but it is endless. Why did this happen? Where did I go wrong? Thanks.

It was likely stuff left in the washing machine from previous loads.

Wipe the tub out and rewash maybe?

Its not the washing machine, they are particles that were on the MFs before I put them in from when I dopped them on the ground or whatever, but some of them are still on the towels after the wash. And before I put them in I ran a rinse cycle on empty to make sure the machine was free of contaminants as the clothes get powder detergent.

Try giving the towels a vigorous shaking out before tossing them into the wash. MF holds dust and dirt so well that all of it may not be removed in the washer. Just a thought.

Really? Everthing I have seen says you should wash with warm water at the hottest and definetaly not hot.

Pfft, that`s why I stopped using those darn MF towels.

Fear not, the future of a better MF draws near... :D :D

I had the same problem with some MF pads I dropped them on the ground and had some sawdust, I must have washed those things 3-4 times and still some particles remain. I wonder if soaking them in Dawn and warm-hot water before I wash will help? Any body have any tips or tricks here? Also can wash the MF towels in hot water or is warm preferable? Thanks

The only luck I`ve had with to get things out that are "stuck" in the MF is to sit in front of the TV w/a pair of tweezers and pull them out. It sucks, its boring and really a PITA, but hey I like my MF`s! :)

Try soaking them in a bucket of water for about 24 hours. After that time, the threads should soften and start to release the chunks.

You know what I do? I give them to my dad and take his that are clean! I bought them for him. He doesn`t know the difference!

I cry bloody murder every time I drop an MF on the ground. My driveway is loaded with little bits and chunks of leaves, twigs, etc...

Well I guess everything you have seen is wrong. Use hot water.

I wash all mine by hand. That way I can scrub the stubborn spots with a fingernail.
