Mold release wax is usually used for composite work, like laying down fiberglass on a mold, isn`t it? Is it possible to use it on car paint?

Hmm..I`d sure like to get Mike P.`s take on this. Interesting that people use #16 (automotive) as a mold-release wax, and now we`re considering using a mold-release wax on a car! I honestly expect it`s best to use them for their INTENDED purposes in this case. Thinking outside the box is cool, but Meg`s makes the different waxes for a reason..

I would NOT expect the #8 to buff off easily, that`s for sure! As in, mess-up-your-paint level of difficulty.
