A while ago i stopped using Rain-X because I felt it left a haze on the windows which made it more difficult to drive at night. Since then I have been using the Castrol stuff that comes in the purple bottle. I just went hunting for a refill the other day and no one was stocking it anymore - pep boys, auto zone, advance...finally found it at Walmart, of all places.

Anything out there better than this stuff?

I stopped using Rain-X about three months ago. It also left a haze especially during humid days.

I really like rainx but as everyone has said the haze can be a bit much.

I do like the Castrol window treatment but it doesn`t seem to work as well as rainx

How about the new rainx "wax" type window treatment? Anyone used it, I guess it is suppose to be easier to remove?

First, I have to say that I love Rain-X. Too bad there isn`t any Meguiars or Mothers product that I know of that makes a competitor. Oh well, I`ll leave it to rain-x......I don`t have any problem with them, it`d just be nice to have some options.

Tomorrow or Saturday, I`ll be picking up some Rain Clear Gell......don`t worry, I`ll report how it works. :)

Preface: I loved Rain-X and never had a problem with chattering wipers or streaking.

Aquapel. Five months and still as effective as day one on the beater. PPG, PLEASE make Aquapel more accessible!!!

Maybe I`m doing something wrong but that Castrol stuff is about as good as applying spring water to your windows. It just doesn`t do anything for me.

Like Scottwax said I find that 20/20 glass cleaner creates a RainX like effect on the windows.

There are many sites that sell Aquapel. Ioffer.com, Onsale.com, bidway.com. Try it..You`ll like it. Far superior to rain x or any other silicone based treatments.

I like Meguiars Quick Detailer. It leaves glass beading like RainX but does not make the wipers noisy as it wears off.
