I want to clay my car. I have 2 coats of SG on. My question is….will the claying be effective without first removing the SG with a cleaner? I should’ve clayed before applying SG, but too late now.

~One mans opinion / observation~

Detailers clay will not remove wax, but it will remove imbedded paint ‘debris’

~ Hope this helps ~

Thanks. I thought maybe the SG had sealed in the debris to where the clay could not remove it….

04runner- You`ll find out when you clay. If you have to get aggressive with it, (which you will if the contaminants are under the SG), then you`ll have to reapply the SG. That`s because you`ll have to go through the SG to get to the contaminants. But I`d be surprised if you had to REMOVE it first as a separate step. With only two coats of SG, it`s hard to say without seeing it.
