Do we all agree for removing waxes, polishes, and cleaners that the more plush/nap a towel has the better? If so, I`m still sort of confused as to what purpose a less plush/nap towel would serve besides cleaning glass.

Nope, I don`t agree. TO me it has to do with a combination of the fibers used, the thickness of the yarn clusters themselves, and the total surface presented to the paint by the loops or strands. YUou can have a thin fabric with long strands that will perform better than a thick fabric with short strands. It`s all a combination, there is never just one thing that governs performance.
