Well I have trying to decide on weather or not I wanted to try this out or not. Well the neighbor had gotten some the other day and did his red truck and that thing turned out AWESOME! So we were talking yesterday and he said if you want to try go ahead.

So I went to the car wash and got the truck as clean as I could but it wasnt clean enough but the hood was really clean so I applied a little S&W to it and it looked great and clean.

So I applied Pro Polish to it and then added the NXT. Well the NXT went on easy and came off very easy. It says on bottle to apply to whole vehicle then wait 15 mins to take off so I waited and hour and then went out and removed what I had on the hood. It came with ease but herin lies the problem.

This was on Dark Shadow Grey Metallic paint and it made it darker and it all but lost the metallic look. I mean to the point where the rest of the vehicle that isnt really even all that clean looks way better in the metallic look than the NXT`d hood. And the hood didnt really have any slickness like i thought it should for just being waxed. So I decided to wait the 24 hrs like people say and check it again.

Well this morning it is alot slicker than it was yesterday but I still thought it could have been alot better and there still is no sparkle to the metallic part. I put on another layer this morning (24hrs later) and am now waiting to see if that does anything but so far it just looks like Dark Shadow Grey with no metallic.

I am by no means an expert in this feild but I find it easy tell that this didnt impress me at all on metallic paint but that red nissan maxima my neighbor has is AWESOME. Now if I only had a digital cam to show some pics. Was gonna take some film ones and have developed and then scan but they never really seem to come out that good of quality to bother messing with.

See thats interesting because I saw LOTS of metallic pop on my metallic burgundy car...

Maybe it was the combination with the pro-polish?

That is interesting--I applied it to a pearlescent LS400 and noticed a similar phenomenon (although I didn`t mind the change as you did). The post is on here somewhere, but the whole car lost the semi-metallic pearl color and assumed a very crisp white. Perhaps it has different properties when applied to dark- and light-colored metallic surfaces.

postscript: No prepwork, just a QeW and the NXT on top of old PwC and EX.

Don`t worry - I`ve found the `muddying` effect of NXT to die after a wash.

First chance I get I`ll use it on my dad`s LS430, its a dark metallic charcoal.

I agree that NXT looks better after a wash. Every aspect of it seems to be better after the first wash.

As for your comment that your hood wasn`t as smooth as you thought it would be, maybe your hood needs to be clayed?

I`ve used it on a metallic black BMW 745 and I still noticed the metallic in the paint (which, by the way, I hate. Black cars should be black. Period). I used American Shines California Clear Coat Glaze under NXT. Maybe that was the difference? :nixweiss

Let us know how it looks after washing it.

Is NXT the same as KLASSE, or can NXT be used as a topper after klasse?

Define `the same`.

I have used NXT over Klasse AIO with very nice results.

Just to help clarify, here`s a picture that shows the `muddying-effect` of NXT as described by BW

I`ll be showing the muddying-effect as described by BW tomorrow on two black Porsche`s for between 30 and 40 Porsche owners...

I hope my results don`t look as muddy as the results above...

Klasse SG is some type of acrylic ??? type product.

I would say NXT Tech Wax is nothing like Klasse SG

:rofl No need to `help clarify.` I`m sure Autopians can make their own decisions.

Mike, given that so many look up to you, I`m bothered by your total disrespect for a member`s opinion. The sarcasm in your post is clear - implying that I must be a complete idiot and liar, for my results in person do not look as good as your pictures. Well in fact, I took a picture of my muddied NXT hood and it looks pretty good:

http://www.autopia.org/gallery/data/500/372nxt_1.jpg

You can find where the NXT started and ended - check the region of the washer fluid nozzle. On the picture, the NXT side only looks darker and shows none of the muddiness that I got in reality. In fact my wife noticed, and for a second, thought I left a side unwashed and dirty.

Mike, just because you like how NXT looks does not grant you the power to ignorantly shove off my opinions as BS. Will I get another $80 worth of free products as an apology? Sorry, I`m not that easily purchased. Quite frankly, I¡Â¦m sick of everything. And I thought "Z-heads" (that you are quick to bash on your forum) were bad...

I hope some others see the light.
