I recently used Meguiar`s Leather Wipes on my 2004 Mercedes SL500 interior and I just noticed that it leaves a glossy, residue on the leather. I was driving today in the sun and could easily notice the areas on my passenger seat and headrest that I cleaned with the wipes.

I thought Meguiar`s stuff was safe for any leather (Mercedes-Benz markets rebranded Meguiar`s stuff for their car car line). How can I get rid of the residue and restore the normal matte finish of the leather?

How do you guys quickly clean your new leather interiors?

Any help would be appreciated as I am a total detailing newbie and I do not want to take this expensive thing to a detailer!

I have been using the leather wipes for the past 8 months. I think their pretty decent, and I like the smell. I agree about the gloss. I wipe off the excess with a terry cloth towel. You can buff it down to the level of gloss you want right after applying. This works fine on my leather, which is Honda. Yours may react differently.
