I`ve been checking out different wheel brushes on Autopia, CMA, etc, sites and all of them (including the OXO line) seem to be on the rough side. In the item description, it`s stated that they`re safe to use on wheels, won`t scratch, etc but the pictures of the bristles still seem to be harder than I would like them to be.

I`ve been using retired sheepskin mitts to clean my wheels and it works just great. It does take a bit more work on my end since the mitt is not as harsh as bristles, but it works for me. I`m ordering a set of multispoke wheels however and need something small enough to fit all the nooks & crannies. The wheels are either going to be a brushed or high polished finish but the centers will be clearcoated. If I go high polished, I may have the lip clearcoated also.

What`s a good SAFE gentle wheel brush that you guys use. I know this was just previously discussed with the TOL brush, but I`m looking for something that will fit in the small spokes of this wheel style.

That TOL brush will fit and you can always use it to clean the interior without removing the wheel from the car and use a MF mitt to clean the wheels only. I`m sure your fingers will fit in the small spokes. Else, you may use a horse boar hair brush like acumulator does.

I think the huge improvement will be when I change stock OEM brake pads to Axxis Pads. I should take a before/after pic one week after I clean the wheels to just show how notoriously bad the brake dust is with the OEM pads.

I currently have 5 spokes right now and after a good cleaning of the wheels with the washmitt, the brake dust just ends up all underneath my fingernails :D . It was a 2 step process for me. Get the wheels clean and then get the hands clean. LOL. I got smart and I now just throw on a disposable latex glove on and then the sheepskin mitt when washing the wheels.

Same here :up

You can also take a look at Mothers Clear Coat Wheel polish, I`ve tried it and think it`s great stuff!

You can try the following brushes. I own all of them. A couple of them I just bought a few days ago:

I like that oxo brush for wheels. It is delicate and the bristles are short and bunched together so that you can work them into small spaces unlike the larger dedicated wheel brush.

I hope these ideas help you out a bit.
