I got a new H2 and didn`t truly realize it`s mass until I had to wash it. Any tips or tricks for big vehicles like this? What about those Boar`s hair brushes? Are they safe? Will they scratch the paint?

Thanks a ton!

I heard the scrub brushes at the local quarter blaster do a good job...

Really, if you don`t want scratches, I`d go the same route as before, just add a ladder and get the larger size Gatorade -or- move into Scottwax`s neighborhood.

Griot`s sells a boars hair brush that attaches to a wand like the DIY joints but I don`t trust it doesn`t scratch. They claim it doesn`t. Even with a ladder this thing is a PITA. It`s a good thing only helicopters can see the roof:)

Put a putting green up there with some Astroturf. Then you don`t have to worry about doing anything other than the occasional APC+.

Does Griot`s have a return policy in the instance the brush inflicts scratches on a test area?

Yeah, they have a lifetime return policy on all their stuff. I was just hoping someone could save me the trouble.

Get a ladder or a platform to help you out. I had a tough time with my truck, which is probably 2/3rds the size of your H2, and a platform really helped make it easier. I`m not too fond of using brushes, but those boar`s hair brushes are pretty nice.

I would just use a large step ladder and take my time. I did a Ford Expedition this way.....

Pay a detailer to clean it like my customers do. ;)

I have a ladder that I use to clean the roof. I`d stay away from using any brushes on the paint. Stick with proper wash mitts or pads

Does an H2 fit in a coin op wash? hehe... Man you need to carry a 4ft ladder everytime you go out and wash... Nice ride...

My suggestion is... use it off road as it should be then it`ll be covered with multiple layers of M sealant... (mud) hehe... j/k

I just use a small 1ft step stool little thing to detail the jeep, which it fairely tall.

I have to chuckle at this. This past summer I believe one of us Autopians did a big return and Griots didn`t like him anymore. Very funny stuff. I think it was Brad.
