I have been looking at the grit guart insert only and a bucket from home depot for $2.50 but the $15.00 grit guard still has me wondering if it is worth it. I use two buckets. Has anyone used the gritguard does it work, good idea?

I made my own and it`s an excellent idea so the mitt never sits in any garbage at the bottom of the bucket.

Just purchased the grit gaurd Monday on the advise of a friend. He said the only issue he had was quickly remedied by cutting the post down to 1/2"-5/8".

I`m looking forward to getting it and trying it out.

I cut up some unwanted toy I found in the basement . :D I`ll get a picture to demonstrate. It was pretty simple.

I made a dirt screen once out of chicken wire, but it was more difficult than I thought it would be, and I don`t think it`s "optimal" because it`s just a screen and doesn`t have any baffles that prevent the silt from getting stirred up off the bottom. It was also extremely ugly and looked like junk. :p

2boxers, I wanted to send you this as a Private Message, but you`ve apparently set up you account to refuse PMs. I`ve moved this thread to the Autopia Univ forum, because that`s where we ask people to post questions `til they have 30 posts -- especially when it`s the kind of question that gets asked and answered repeatedly on Autopia. And even the veterans post in AU when they want to share fundamental info or ask a basic question. If you haven`t had a chance you might want to check out Autopia`s "House Rules" at http://www.autopia.org/rules.php .

BTW, if you run this search (http://www.autopia.org/forums/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=245920&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending), you`ll find what some other Autopians have said about the Grit Guard. :up

Didn`t sound like `2boxers` was asking a question. :)

I think, after seeing the price, I am just going to make one out of something or other.
