I have had a few cars painted and NONE peeled. So I assume its the econo jobs that peel or shortcutting in the prep. The 93 PU I had was 3/4 painted in 95 and to this day you can`t tell it was redone... so in a lot of cases you get what you pay for.

<------- This has had a 80% repaint and its not detectable to anyone but a pro.

Peel as in like the middle of a panel or near and edge? I am guessing that the paint job was crappy and instead of the paint shop pulling all of the moldings and such, they just taped them off and that is where the peeling is coming from.

Peeling is caused when there is a poor bond betwen new and old coats. (Duh!) It`s almost always the cause of bad prep work. The most common reasons are:

1. Dirt or sanding dust not being properly removed.

2. The panel was painted using improper bonding and thinning agents. (Paint has additives that take in consideration ambient temperature and humidity. You have to match these additives to the right scenario.)

3. Poor surface prep/finish sanding not thorough enough.
