Sound about right for what is listed. Just remember to put that quart of 3M compound away where you cannot find it.

Why do you say that?

Cuts too fast to learn with. Maybe OK to use it on a junk-yard hood, but start with #9 or something else gentle on your "pride `n joy`.

I used rubbing compound and my Mak on the wife`s beater and went through the color layer in a heartbeat, especially on edges. White paint is not quite grey in a couple of flat places on the hood. She`s not upset, and I got a free lesson in edge control, flat control and pressure.

Don`t you mean the Tool Warehouse? If I were to get one though, which I did- but I got the DeWalt and not the Makita, I would get the $183 one with the pads instead of the rubbing compound.

Yea your right the Tool Warehouse. Harbor Freight has them for $159 but no accesories. They told me they were out of the CX and only the CX2 was available.

Have you placed your order yet?? I am really contemplating whether I should go w/ harbor freight or not. That price is the best I`ve seen so far. But then again, I`ve heard some horror stories about them.

I have not ordered from Tool Warehouse before, I will do a search and see if anything bad comes up about them. Harbor Freight has a store near me but they don`t have the Makita or DeWalt polisher. HF has the better price but I like the package for that includes the bag and pads. The pads run about $10/ea from CMA and TOL. Also I believe that first time buyers get free shipping over $99 from TW.

Free shipping at HF, but 5.95 handling charge. Haven`t heard any horror stories except for long ship time, but I knew that before I bought it.

autonova, I bought the 9227 CX from toolwarehouse, IIRC. ( link (http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29753&highlight=9227cx) ) and I got the pads, not the polishing compound.

FWIW, I wouldn`t ever use the included pads but the machine itself is worth its weight in gold!..after you have the PC, of course! :xyxthumbs :D
