Decided to give the door jambs a good polish and seal with Omikron Bodyseal the other day as the paint was starting to look a litte dull.

I`m not sure how many do there doors but i love the feel and lustre of them now.

I also did the underside of the hood with magnum top gear long life instant shine and it`s like a mirror now.

I figure that why stop with just the exterior paint. I have also done the door sills as well and will be doing the underside of the trunk next week.

Hey, if it`s a painted surface and you can get to it, why not polish and wax it. That is what detailing is all about. Paying attention to the details. Have fun...

I polish my my door jambs and under the bonnet as well, the paint on these parts isn`t as open to the elements as the rest of the car so on my car they clean up realy well.

Another thing when you are cleaning your doors at the bottom is to make sure that the drain holes are not blocked which could cause water to be trapped in your door leading to the formation of the dreaded "rust".

I always use the Klasse twins on the door jambs when the car is fresn `n` new. It helps to keep things much nicer and those areas don`t accumulate so much crap.

Yep, :xyxthumbs to doing those areas. As mirrorfinishman said.."if it`s paint.." Tom p. is absolutely right- it pays to keep these surfaces as nice as you can so they shed dirt and water better.

Sometimes these areas need a LOT of polishing, as the pant there isn`t always as nicely done as the rest of the vehicle (or even clearcoated!). The rough texture can really hold onto dirt, which holds moisture, which leads to problems.

So true accum and mirrorman. The BA Falcons which are the next model up from AU suffer from unpainted and poorly painted door jambs. The one thing i can`t stand is a door jamb full of spider webs, rust and grease.

You know I`m sorry to say that I haven`t detailed my door jams at all since I got the car eight months ago. :nixweiss I`ve been too caught up in keeping the rest of the car clean and neglected the door jams. I put my head down in shame. :(
