Welcome to Autopia!

Car looks real good. I used to have a 1996 Crimson Pearl ETC. Great car with great power (Northstar System :D).

I used to use Z-Best. It works pretty well, but after finding this site it`s not used anymore. Start reading the stickies and running searches about any questions you may have. This site has a ton to offer to make your car look stunning.

Good Luck and Happy Detailing!

I switched to Z-best because it is easier to use than mothers, which i used for about 2 years... If you don`t mind, why`d yah` stop?

I stopped because I found easier to use products with better results. Start running searches on "surface prep". Z-Best is a cleaner and protector in 1. I tend to do a multi step procedure on any paint now.

-Wash

-Clay

-Rinse

-Polish out swirls, scratches, and defects (2 step process sometimes)

-Cleaner Product (Like a cleaner wax...which I feel preps the surface for the finishing wax or sealant)

-Sealant (seals and protects the paint...synthetic product)

-Wax (for the "wet" look)

This might be a little overwhelming if you are new. Just run a search for each of those steps and you will be set. Also check out:

for a plethora of detailing info. Good Luck!

Nice car! How is the Northstar engine holding up after 10 years?

Gold Class and Z are going to be reduntant products. Either use one or the other.

No major problems since (knock on wood)

it has 101k miles as of now..first tune up at 95k miles

few rattles caused by the aftermarket sunroof and driver door rattles on bumpy roads...i dont know the cause because that side was hit 4 years ago and it may be something out of my reach..other than those it`s the car is pretty solid

Nice work. Is that polo green? My dad had a 95 STS that was black with that same interior, but he almost got that green. If I remember correctly that aggcrate grille was a PITA to keep clean...

Looks great for a 10 year old car! His didnt look that good after 3...
