Paint Problem

I bought in October a 1994 Infiniti Q45. In general it is in great condition and the paint is nice and glossy. However, on closer inspection all of the horizontal panels have a sort of spotting effect. The spots are about 1/4 to 1/2 in diameter, not necessarily perfectly round and seem to be etched into the finish.



Any suggestions of where to start. I suspect they may be impossible to remove due to the depth of the etching.

A picture is really the only thing that is going to help us diagnose a problem. It could be water spot etching, bird bomb etching, clearcoat failure, acid rain etching, many things. It is probably going to take some pretty aggressive polish and a rotary to remove the etching if they are as deep as you describe.
