I applied P21S for the first time yesterday. It rained overnight and the water beads on the car are very small. Is this common with this wax or did I apply it too sparingly?

Small beads are good.

I get small, tight beads with S100 also. They also blow off faster when driving than any other wax I`ve used.

I always look for small beads as a sign that I applied the P21s evenly. IMO the smaller the better.

~One man’s opinion~
Wax is hydroscopic when it’s really doing fulfilling one of its purposes (water repellent) the smaller it’ beads’ water the more efficiently it’s doing that just that.

Small Beads of water indicate the proper application of P21S, also good indication you did a good prep on the paint beforehand.:bounce :xyxthumbs

Because the wax itself is hydrophobic (literally "fears water")... http://www.smilies.okipages.com/s/contrib/tweetz/scared.gif

Hydro whatever, as long as it looks good!
