Used Meg`s #81 Hand Polish today for the first time. I was expecting it to be comparable to VM, but was a little disappointed.
#81 is thicker so doesn`t spread as easily as VM. It also is a little harder to buff off, but it`s still fairly easy. I don`t believe the shine rivals VM either.
I`m still glad I purchased #81 as it cost me less than 1/2 the price of VM. In the future I`ll be using #81 on all of the freebie jobs I do for friends on their beaters.

I believe you are comparing apples with oranges?
#81 is a hand polish where VM is a combo product - cleanser (extremely mild polish)/glaze/ protectant IMO and experiences. :nixweiss
VM is a very unique product in my book.

I know they`re not the same, but I believe the difference is a fine line. #81`s nomenclature suggest it`s a polish, but it`s also used as a glaze for clearcoats (kind of like a combo product).

I think to be fair, you`d have to follow up #81 with #82 (hand polish). Then you`ll get the wet shine of VM. However, that would negate the price advantage of #81 over Vm, I guess. :nixweiss

I think you are used to the bright and reflective look you get from VM, #81 has a deeper look to me. Try using it on black before you give up on it.

Scottwax,
I`m not giving up on #81 and I shouldn`t have implied this is a negative review of #81. It`s a good product. Just not as pleasant to work with as VM.
BTW, I can`t get over how great VM is on windows!
