I guess you don`t get -20 degrees celcius over there:) I would never be able to wash out side, here the temperature drops to -30 celcius and sometimes much colder with the wind:shocked :doh

I wich I had a block garage, heated:bounce

It doesn`t get that cold here, but tomorrow it will be about 35 when I start in the morning. Should make it into the upper 50`s in the afternoon though

I just deal with it. I can work when it is as cold as 30. I`m not comfortable, but that`s the breaks in this business. Usually if I am at someone`s house detailing they offer use of their garage. Still have to detail the interior outside though so I can see better.

~One man’s opinion~

1. Electrical Infrared Heaters: wall/ceiling mountable - 3,000 Btu’s, 110v (includes a halogen light), 22â€w x 11â€h x 3â€d and rotates 360o (groitsgarage.com P/T 45503 $80.

2. Electrical rolling stand Infrared Heater (P/T # 45579 groitsgarage.com) on a stand adjustable to 62†height, with a 30’ x 26†base with four 2†casters, rated at 5,000 Btu’s (will heat 10’ x 12†area) 110V with a six foot power cord. Approx $180

Do not use in wet conditions, near gas heaters or chemicals with explosive gasses like paint or fuel.

Hope this helps.

Do you have any experience with either? How would they work in a 2 car garage with temps in the 20`s?

I’ve used three ceiling mounts and one pole mount (3-bay garage) when I lived in PA (cold is not the problem here in Florida, but that`s the main reason I re-located) I found they gave sufficient heat for me to detail my cars

Hope this helps.

That`s it! I`m moving out of PA! Everyone is leaving me here in the cold!!!!!!!!:( I don`t have the luxury to take off from detailing through the winter, so I have to deal with it somehow.

What do us mobile guys in the north do about when it is freezing cold and we don`t have the resources of having a garage, etc.?:nixweiss This is my first winter being mobile, so I never experienced running a mobile operation during winter months. Freezing wax, freezing qew, freezing hands & noses, hard to dry cars....what to do!:scared I don`t have the luxury to take off during the winter months like some, I have to work....not that I`m complaining, but what would a mobile operation be like during the cold season?
