I am going to buy a tool and measure how much clear we are removing with our products and polishers but I want to make sure I can measure down to the exact decimal.

Pen gauge = 210.00
Total thickness gauge on metal =540.00
Paint on plastic and able to measure 3 layers on a material = 3030.00
Jeeeeeeeepers, so much money.

One comparison on the thickness of oem clearcoat (or S/S urethane) only (not counting basecoat, primer, E-coat etc.) is this;
1.7 to 2.0 Mils =average clearcoat film build or average S/S topcoat.
2.0 Mils = 50 microns
50 microns = width of a human baby`s hair or fine adult hair.
Pretty darn thin. :)
