I need to clean a convertable top on 1997 (I believe) BMW Z3. It`s my folk`s close frien. I know he really doesn`t take care of his car as far as washing.
What do you folks recommend that is local? Or, does anyone have a home solution?
I figured I`d use my oxo feather tip brush with something. Unless you recommend a stiffer brush which I do have.
Any suggestions? Again, I need something local.
Thanks.

I`ve used a stiffer brush for the top. On light dirt just used car wash but maybe something like apc+ may be more suitable to your situation. Do you have a Strauss near you? They might carry the 303 convertible top cleaner. Don`t know if its any good though. Porsche convertible top cleaner supposed to be good too.

This might sound a little weird, but my wife`s convertable top
had what looked like lint on it (probably from weed seeds and
other junk in the air). I hooked up my upholstery attachment to
the ole Miele canister vac and went at it. I then washed it with
a medium stiff brush and Meg`s GC. It came out blacker than
the paint. Now whenever it needs a little touch up and I don`t
feel like scrubbing it, I just drag out the Miele. Works great.

I realized I have some EFHI. I`ll dillute it 1:1 and spritz on and scrub with a stiff brush that I have.
