3 stage paint on my 94 mustang(vibrant Red)

just wondering what are the three steps on my Vibrant Red Paint on my mustang.....whats the process thanks its a 94

If the paint is a tri-coat, the process is as follows.



Tinted primer.

Translucent color coat. Similar to a candy.

Clear

Will you be taking on the process yourself or trying to gather as much information as possible so that you can assess different shops about their knowledge.



Current paint technology has come a very very long way and it`s quite complicated to understand which systems work best etc. Introducing a Candy type paint just adds to the mix. There was a very good write-up last month in one of the import car magazines covering paint recently. It may be still on the shelves.



Check our your local B&N or magazine shop and leaf through them. I believe the cover the magazine highlighted that it had a long section on it.
