i was painting my brake calipers this weekend- and after i was done- i washed my car and realized that i now had a nice silver speckling on my black paint all over the car! guess i should have covered the whole car!?!?

anyhow- what`s the best way to remove all this overspray? i tried the claybar- seems to have gotten rid of bout 70% of it- but there`s still some..

suggestions?

thanks all

Does the car have a good coating of wax? Perhaps a good Dawn wash may help get rid of a lot of it if it is only on the wax?

By the way, when I painted mine I used one of those cheap disposable foam brushes... no worry about spray!

Try claying the problem areas.

1) clay

2) clay x2 or more aggressive clay

2) mild abrasive like mother`s pre-wax cleaner or similar

clay - - that`s what it was originally intended to do...and be more careful the next time!

try thr clay again, like suggested. Make sure it`s lubed up nice and good. If you`re friends with anyone at a body shop, maybe go over and make nice and see if they will help you out here. Good thing you caught it when new, and not down the road, after it`s been set in the paint. . .
