After receiving my PC and Pads (Thanks zenhog!)... finally get some time to sit down and experiment... here`s a pic of my driver`s side rear door (untouched as of this pic... and the whole car is like this)

And here`s a pic of my driver`s side front door after 15 minutes with a PC, a wool pad, PI-III, white pad, PI-III MG...

Fantastic comparison shot! This has been my year of getting to know swirls and learning how to eliminate them (rather than fear them, use underpowered abrasives, and hide them under glaze). Not easy, but such an important skill.

If this was a class, you just got an A+ :)

Thanks guys :D

I do have to admit though... there are some dings I haven`t gotten out yet... not so sure about that A+ ;)

About the same place... zoomed out a bit, and a little sharper...

oh yeah... and one "DOH!!"... I forgot to tape up the keyhole... (it used to be black)

I`ll try to get some shots up when I finish the whole thing... working in pieces as it`s hard to find free time lately

Looks just like my last Grand Cherokee (the before pic that is). I`ve had alot of trouble with both Jeeps, the paint seems to be very tough. Even the yellow pad and FI-2 can`t remove all the scratches. Looks like the wool pad worked well though, I`ll have to try that.

I`ve still had a few trouble spots on the fenders and some on the hood... even with the wool pad... they don`t even look like they are that deep, but they also don`t even seem to be affected by the wool pad and PI-III... I`m gonna try to get some extra cut after I finish the car with what I`ve got. If I figure out any secrets I`ll let you know ;)

What color were your Jeeps?

When you just say PI-III, are you referring to PI-III SMR? You said you used PI-III MG, so I`m just curious. What did you think of the MG?

Sorry... when I say PI-III I was referring to PI-III Rubbing Compound... and PI-III MG referring to the Machine Glaze.

The MG is great at finishing it up, although as many have said, can be a bit hard to work with. It tends to leave a residue if you let it dry. I`ve put too much on a few times and tried to work over too large an area... it dries and is a pain to get off. Usually I`ll just put a little more on and go over the spot that dried and it comes right up, so it`s more of a pain.

Some people have had issues with hazing, although mostly on dark colors. I can see it a little on mine, but for the most part I am able to avoid it. Again, I`ve been able to remove my hazing by going over it again, just on a smaller area.

approval from Scottwax! :bow :bow :bow (I`m always in awe of your pics... something for me to shoot for)

:D

qwik... a 7424...

the "15 minutes" is about the amount of time it took to do the spot in the picture... the whole vehicle is taking quite awhile

Top the line sells a LC 7.5" wool pad. CMA sell a 6" wool pad.

I do not know which wool pad mlebarron used.

Not sure where the pad came from, I bought it from someone else. It`s a 6" pad, I`ll see what else I can find out.
