View Full Version : How can I remove ALL wax, and how can I remove all but Zaino?

First, I need to remove ALL waxes, oils, fillers, etc to apply a decal to my trunk. Second, I`ve topped my Zaino with S100, and I was wondering how I can get it back to just Zaino if I want to add more Z. I`ve heard dish soap, but I don`t buy it. I did it once, and all water beading properties were gone, (ie no Zaino.)

claying will remove wax and 1/2 layer Zaino mabey

might also want to try 50/50 water/alcohol to get the wax off

You can probably go over your truck with something along the lines of Meguiars Swirl Free, then Dawn wash your truck to remove all traces of wax.

from what I hear (about to try for myself) S100 isn`t that durable, so leave the car in the sun a day or two, then after it cools off probably a couple of sudsy washes with regular car wash soap will take it off.

Prep Sol will remove all

Alcohol/water mixture or denatured alcohol or a solvent such as 3M adhesive remover.

Edit: I didn`t read that you wanted to keep the Zaino. Just don`t top it off with anything for 3 weeks and there shouldn`t be any left.

Dawn wash...doesn`t affect Z, strips wax. Alc will affect Z too, prepsol strips EVERYTHING.

If it is carnauba, I would just wait a month for it to wear off. Or maybe just low concentration Dawn wash. Then apply more of the Zaino.

Um no. S100 has decent durability for a carnuba. Remember it was only one of 4 carnubas that beaded the whole 8 weeks of the Guru Test.

Dawn should take it right off though.

Glad to hear. A lot of posts about how S100 isn`t as durable. Like I said, about to try for myself.

i did zaino about 2 weeks ago, car still looks alright, but my neighbourhood is undergoing lots of construction, so there`s a lot of dust being kicked up. what`s the best way to wash the car but keep zaino on?

i was thinking zip wax (still have to finish the bottle before using goldclass), clay on a few areas, then dry, then z6 all around.

Get the Z7 car wash. It augments the Zaino line.

But most car wash will work as long as they do not contain any type of "quick-wax" product in them, just a good wash.
