has anyone tried finish first polish? I have used it but not compared it to any products posted in this forum. I have a new car, so it seems to work well. It is a synthetic polish tat covers swirls after a few coats. I don`t have swirls yet so it seems to work well. Any feed back from users of olde cars? my roadster.net

Finish First is a decent product, not like Klasse twins or Zaino, or like Platinum or EX, but is a good step up from TW and NuFinish.

It doesn`t layer and is just like Liquid Glass. Its like a cleaner polymer sealant type product. It not as duable as a sealant like Klasse SG or Zaino, and doesn`t have the carnauba look of Platinum or EX.

There are better products out there, but Finish First finishes in the middle of the pack IMHO.

The manufacturer states you can layer Finish First without build up. I put two coats on my last car and it turned out great. Was it a waste or does it work?

Not a waste, just providing a better finish due to the cleaning ability. Some people like to do two applications of Klasse AIO due to added cleaning ability and higher shine coming for the cleaning action.

Wait, hold on, mfg. says won`t build up but will layer. Thats contradicting itself. I have read some threads about the abrasive characteristic of FF. My take on it is, yes it has abrasives, will not layer, will clean the surface, and provide 4-6 weeks of protection on a daily driver.

Hi benzman, welcome to Autopia! :welcome

If you haven`t already, I encourage you to check out the Learn! link for lots of good general info, and to also check out the Search feature. Since "finish first" would probably get too many hits in a normal search, a Title Search found these:

http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9288&highlight=first+finish

http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14771&highlight=first+finish

http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13812&highlight=first+finish

There are even more threads (older threads are sometimes better) in the Archives, but for some reason (must be a bug) "finish first" seems to include all threads with the word "finish" in the title, so you still have only 4 pages of hits to wade through. :)

Thanks for the info 4DSC. In some posts it states Finish First has a silicone base. What I have read, it states it is a synthetic polish. Any feedbacks?
