I am just curious to find out if anyone has ever tried (or has installed) a DI water source for washing. Seems to me that with the huge reduction in elements and salicytes it would all but eliminate "spotting". Just a thought.

It has been discussed here before. The DI systems are so expensive that most have decided that they would rather dry their cars by hand. I know Scottwax has a customer with a DI setup in his garage, I`m sure he will chime in when he gets a chance.

What I don`t get is everytime I go to one of those touchless car washes I get bad spotting. I know they use recycled water but why can`t they put some decent filters in those things? There shouldn`t be any spotting if its using pure water. BTW I haven`t gone to one of those in a while...now that I found autopia :)
