For nearly new wheels, should I wax the inside of the wheel (where the tire is mounted), and, or the back side of the wheel where the brake dust likes to accumulate.

Personally, I would skip the wax where the tire is mounted. I would however use a polymer like say Zaino on as much of the wheel as possible, wax wouldn`t hold up as well, it gets pretty hot in there. A polymer would hold up much better than wax. If you do not have a polymer on hand, then wax would be the next best thing. Then just try and clean it as much as possible.

If you have collinite wax at your finger tips, then I can see the rationale behind using a wax. Otherwise, use a synthetic.

Meguiar`s #20 or AIO both work really well for that purpose, but #20 is way cheaper.

I use Wheel Wax topped with Collinite insulator Wax on my car.

I use Moose Wax on customer`s wheels.

If the holes between the spokes are large enough to get your hand in, you can wax or polish all the way to the back side of the wheel.

Makes them MUCH easier to clean with a coat of wax on them.

I use Zaino on mine every month.

Yeah I personally would not wax the insides of the wheel, particularly the bead seats because their purpose is to grip the tire via friction and keep it from spinning. That`s why hardcore drag race tires are tube-type and have the beads actually screwed into the rim.

I just put a nice coat of Klasse SG on the wheels on my 4Runner his past weekend. It makes the removal of the brake dust so much easier.

I`m with Pats on the use of the Klasse twins on my wheels. Makes cleanup very easy, I just use another washmit for wheelwells and tires. With a Klasse application every month, car shampoo and water are enough to keep them clean.
