Microfiber @ Walmart: $4.86 5 14x14`s

I was at Walmart today for a carwash to raise money for the trip I might be going on. (what a painful experience; working with ordinary average people washing cars). Anyway, I was browsing the automotive section and saw these MFs on a box near the floor. I was just at Target where the price for a 3 pack (1 glass cloth, 2 plush ones) was $7.00. These were $4.86 and ended up being $5.13 after tax@5.5%. These are my first microfibers, and they feel pretty soft. Should I either machine or hand wash them before I use them or not? Anyway, here are the pictures.

Besides that, I had a bad day. The lense screw on my glasses fell out and got lost, and I think it must be stripped. I had to tape the lense back in, and am thinking of either trying to replace the screw with a wire twisted in there and/or some glue to hold the lense in. Maybe I`ll just use my other pair of out-of-date prescription glasses. AFter that, I "broke" this guy`s windshield wiper on his POS Buick when I was washing it. I lifted up the wiper and it didn`t go back down. You couldn`t even push it down. POS old car, he claims that you aren`t supposed to lift the wipers out of their "cradels". Oh well, it isn`t a big hit on me, he is an old, grouchy man. As he was driving away, I saw the streaky area with areas that weren`t even washed as he drove away. FYI, the other side lifted and went back down fine. He wanted his money back. :rolleyes:

Then there was this stupid pesky van on my way home in the city parts of my drive. I took off from a traffic light and I think I might have chirped my tires a little. This van decides it wants to play, but I just keep accelerating like normal (shifting at 3.5 to 4k rpm) to 35mph (speed limit in that region). It seems to think it won or something, and the middle age lady in the passenger seat of the van is smiling and jeering. Here is my turn the next light after the light where it all began. I hope the van didn`t think I was defeated. Just so you know, I`m not big into street racing (actually not at all) and especially in the city with a bunch of other cars around. :rolleyes:



Oh well, some days are like that. We`ll see if I even wake up tomorrow to face the day.



and to add to my complaining, walmart didn`t have 50% window tint film, only 35, 20, and 5%. In wisconsin, down to 50% is legal on the front door windows and down to 35% on the rest except the windshield. I currently have 35% but want to get into the legal zone. :nixweiss

I found those back in February.



They`re great...Not as plush as my PakShaks, but they still get regular use. The blue towels will bleed some color when washed, so now the white towels are light blue.



Some have reported linting. I wash these Concordia towels by themselves and I haven`t noticed much linting, but I drive a black RX 300, so lint is really noticeable.

I have purchased 20 of these towels. They work great for doors and wheels. I only use my JT International on the paint. I have justed moved into a new home and these towels have been great for cleaning. My wife was really pleased on how well they work cleaning walls after removing wall paper.



So far they have been washed seven or eight times and I have had no problems with linting or other issues. The only issue is if you dry them completely on low heat--they tend to curl and stick to themselves.



Otherwise, I am very glad these have been available at Walmart.

At less than a buck each, you can`t beat it.



I use them on glass, wheels, lower body panels, and interior.



For the upper body panels, I use high-dollar MF`s or 100% cotton towels. (I`m still attached to them!)....

Are these safe for upper body pannels? AllI have used before is a 15pk of supposeldly 100% terry towels from sams, and not to much scratching.

Don`t trust the 15-pack terry towels from Sam`s club. Those are good for the engine bay.



I also don`t use the Walmart MF`s on upper body panels. I`m afraid the edge stitching is a little scratchy.



The towels I use are the expensive 100% cotton bath towels from Dilliards. High dollar, but very soft.



You can also use Pak Shak MF`s on upper body panels. Very soft and no label to mess with.

If it`s a bulk pack of so-called "100% cotton" towels, I don`t trust it. :down Check the tag where it`s made.....

yah the GF just come some nice 100% soft towles for her room, im going to match the price onm those to some stuff from PakShak.

I was just asking about the wally ones, just b/c i am still a bit new at this. I dont want to waste money on them just to do windows or something.



i was thinking about some of the cotton towels from griots and MFs from pak. But with the abath ones, what about the decrotive edge in the sides (about 3" from the ends sometimes).



Also, just currious, would a big bath towl like that be good for just drying? Id like smaller towels for removing product.

I just bought another pack this weekend. I have been using them for door jams, wheels, and windows. You really can`t beat the price. I have been saving my Pakshak towels for drying, QDin`g and wax removal..



Remember you can never have enough MF towels :D

I do the exact same thing as Pats300zx does...use the Walmart MF`s for the "crud" work and save the Pakshaks for paintwork...

I have a very hard time removing all the adhesive that sticks to the walmart mf`s. I`ve only tried peeling by hand, I haven`t tried washing yet.

I managed to get one that didn`t have any adhesive on it. They were just slipped in and wrapped in that paper! I read somebody`s post which said even a cheap MF is better than most cotton towels. I have some cotton stuff, but they sure doesn`t seem as soft as these MF`s. Are these safer to use on my paint than my (or any) cotton ones?

You might want to check out Costco and see if they carry the MF`s by Detailers Preference. A pack of 12 was $8.89 and they are thicker and plusher than the Sams towels. I just picked a set of there up. I have never used MF before. Should I not use these on my surface of the paint? I mean, if I fold the ends over and only use the actual soft towel part, there should be no harm, right?

I figure, as someone in one of the threads that Mmmph posted, if it passes the CD test and is soft and plush, then use it. I grabbed one of mine for wiping down the dash of my car...I`m planning on keeping it in the car. I chose a blue one for this task, since I wanted the white ones for the paint where seeing dirt is more critical. I have four left for other stuff, and may grab another one out for glass.



I`m planning on using the rest of them for product removal. I use a foam applicator for application of wax.



Would this (MF) be a good towel to use for swirl removing by hand? Or should I stick with cotten (flannel?) here?
