The mechanic smudged a little grease or something on the dash. What can I use to remove it? What is something that I can get locally or even may have in my home already?

Thanks.

A solution of dawn and luke warm water and a soft bristle toothbrush. Rinse with water, dry and dress.

You may try a diluted solution of APC+ (1:10) with a sponge or brush. Don`t forget to rinse and dry thoroughly after.

at the shop I work at we get lots of cars with anything under the sun caked ont he dash, including smoke stains, markers, anything you can dream of.

Before we do anything on the interior we go over every single plastic piece and spray it down with a diluted degreaser. (think simple green but diluted alot with water) and scrub it with a scrub brush with soft bristles.

I have yet to see a car that this caused any sort of fading and I have sprayed it on everything, some of the bad cars I pretty much drench the doors in the solution an dscrub the whole door.

So you could try that.
