hey all I just got a new 2003 roush mustang black with charcoal grey leather interior. Ive been reading alot of posts on the different products and im still confused on which I should go with and in what order. Basically my car is an everyday driver and I also live by the ocean so im looking for the maximum protection and shine of course :) Im going to be ordering a PC soon. Also ive noticed when conditioning my leather it seems to not absorb very well. With my old car (lexus) it soaked it up. Any suggestions on this?

Welcome to Autopia!:)

If it were my brand new Roush Mustang, I`d clay and then Zaino for maximum protection. Especially in a "salt-air" atmosphere.

Most brand new cars have rail-dust embedded in the paint, which cannot be washed off. Clay will give the car a very smooth finish, but UNPROTECTED.

Sealants give you great paint protection and are very long-lasting.

Some guys add a layer or two of carnuba to deepen the shine.

I just layer the Zaino and it looks great.

There are many other sealant brands out there. I just prefer Z!

As for the leather....I use Zaino Leather-in-a-Bottle. It`s the best leather dressing I`ve ever used and smells great (like new leather!)...

If you dont like Z you can always defect to the klasse side and use the twins. AIO/SG.

So I would have no need to use a SMR after claying and before putting on the sealant? Also with Zaino, what is the time frame for putting on another coat? 24 hours?

Since you have a brand new car, you shouldn`t need to use SMR. (I`m sure there will be those who will disagree)...

When my car was new, I clayed, then went immediately to Z.

Timeframe: I have layered Zaino up to 3 coats in one day. The only time you have cure-time issue is if the weather is extremely humid. Then wait until the next day.

Do some research on sealants. Z is not the only good one out there.

Here are some good ones.

welcome to autopia and congrag on ur new roush.

i was gonna buy the roush until i saw the saleen speedester but with the roush stage three it will be hard to choose 365hp.

now like luster said clay then zaino but if thier are swirl mark from the dealer wash for example then use #9 other wise skip and since ur car is black i would highly recommend souveran or s100/ps21 the depth that these carnuba will give is the missing link in the zaino.other choice that i experiment is poorboy EX i found having 3 layer of zaino then 2 layer of EX give me the protaction and shine i was looking for.

search in the gallery for luster or amp99 pictures they both have black car which will give you the idea of which look you like.

as for the leather if it was the stock ford like mine then it`s vinyl and the inserts are leather that`s why it won`t suck all the conditioner and they tend to crack fast if kept uncondition espacially the side.

if it was the roush seats then it will be a good idea to contact roush or classic soft trim since they are the manufacture of the seats if i recall and you can find them inthe internate.

good luck
