Hi,
I ordered some One Grand Blitz Wax, which has arrived today. After opening the tin, the wax looks and seems "hard". is this normal for a carnuaba wax? Do you have to warm it up at all to make it `melt` a little before using it?
Apologies but I`ve never used a carnuaba before. Tips would be handy!

I use 3M Perfect-It Paste wax which is like a ROCK! I use it once a month (overkill) on my daily commuter parked outside 24x7.
The best thing to do is to use a yellow foam applicator and mist with a cheap QD like Eagle One Wipe n Shine ($4 at KMart). Then massage the wax and you`ll be able to pick it up and layer a nice thin coat. It will be very easy to apply and removal will be easier as well.
Use the QD again when you feel it getting harder to apply. I actually spray it in the jar on top of the wax and then wipe the pad on the wax. This way it soaks it all up.
This is a great method - trust me. It`s a life saver.
Remember, THIN coats! And the Blitz is good for layering. Do it every week for like 3 weeks and you`ll be set for a while with some solid protection.

Thanks for the tips. Should I use a damp applicator pad?

Yes, mist with the QD that I recommended. The Eagle One Wipe n Shine. That will provide the dampness that will aid in the application. You can buy EVERYWHERE!

I think I`ve heard of folks that use Blitz applying it with their fingers...the heat from their hand "melts" the wax. You might do a search.

Its hard yes quite normal. I tend to warm it by rubbing my fingers round the tin a bit and then applying the applicator. I dampen the app with megs F.I or Eimmen Fabrik clear pearl. If not just spritz your pad with water if you have no qd.

ok, I`ll give it a go with water, because I have no QD at the moment. I think it might take a bit of experimentation to get this right! :)

Oops! Didn`t see you are from across the pond! :brit
Try any QD that you can get your hand on or just go with good old water. Try puting some distilled water in a spray bottle and use like that! Mist the wax or your applicator pad and apply. It`ll work.

Pies, welcome to Autopia, its great to see more and more Brits here.
Clare, dont worry to much about a QD, I have been using Blitz for some time with no QD. Dont forget to have a look at the Dr Wack range at Iauto.
