Anyone else still using cotton towels on your car paint vs. MF. I love how MF cleans up windows, interior, etc but I still love my charisma selects on the exterior for drying and buffing.

In past, I have always used 100% cotton towels w/Zaino - Tried the MF towels and like them much better for both the washing/drying and buffing application.

I bought $50 worth of Charisma towels on special from the outlet store when I first started using Zaino . . . I cut them down and had a friend with a serger stitch up the edges, leaving me with a large supply of conveniently-sized detailing towels, all 100% cotton made in the USA, just as Zaino recommends.

Since the first day I tried MF, those towels have been relegated to household cleaning, never to touch my paint again. That`s not to say cotton is a Bad Thing, but my personal preference is MF all the way . . .

Same here! For the past 3 years all I used on my car was Zaino and Charisma towels. Last year after joing this site, I got the MF bug, and I`ve never looked back.

I have a black f150 Harley and bought Zaino, with 100% cotton towels after reading numerous posts on an f150 forum. They swore by the towels, but made sure to stress that the cotton towels are USA made, not pakistan like you get a Kmart, Walmart or the auto stores. They specifically mentioned Cannon towels, so I bought those. My truck has developed swirl marks over the last year, and I couldn`t figure out why. I have tried 3 different wash mits thinking it was those.

I just bought a brand new Lexus RX330 (black) and started the zaino process. I started with a clay bar, then drying the residue with the 100% cotton towels. I immediately noticed small minute swirls scratches. I stopped immediately and came inside and ordered 75.00 worth of Microfiber towels. I will never use the cotton again. I have two other MF towels, so I know they are softer.

Here`s the link:

PAKSHAK MF Towels (http://www.pakshak.com/)

These towels are the finest MF towles I have found to date. Edges are finished as well! Very fast shipping and customer service from Ranney!

If you want a QD/final finish towel, I highly recommend Autopia`s "CBT" towels found under "SHOP". These are very high quality terry from Italy and so very soft! I use the CBT`s for QD and final wipe.

Get your PakShak and CBT`s soon!

At one point I had over $200 invested in the best 100% cotton towels Fieldcrest, Zymol and Meguiars had to offer. I was still getting micro-marring from the towels. They now do duty in my interior, windows and tires/wheels. I then discovered MF, specifically PakShak (http://www.pakshak.com) towels. I also discovered the PC at about the same time. I have since removed all of my swirls and scratches with the help of 1200 watts of halogen power and unless you rub your MF in the dirt it is really hard to scratch your paint with them. The biggest thing even with MF you still have to be careful with is pressure. If something won`t come off you have to resist the urge to rub harder, you need to use QD or something else to help remove whatever it may be from stubborn wax to bug splats, whatever. I use terry MF for wax removal, quick detailing, etc and waffle weave MF for drying. I would do a search as quality of MF towels can vary. I buy mine mostly from PakShak (http://www.pakshak.com) but, I have also recently purchased several of the Autopia Concours Buffing Towels (http://www.autopia-carcare.com/aucobuto.html). You can`t go wrong with either. You might do a search as well as there are other sources that are probably just as good, I just don`t have any experience with them.

By the way, if you go by PakShak (http://www.pakshak.com) take a look at the two pics of the Red 01 Mustang, I guess my car is special as there are two pics of it on his site :)
