Fantastic post!!

I applaud your choice of products, I use many of the same! But I have a couple questions and comments.

I use medical swabs which are similar to Q-tips except the cotton swab is larger and the stick is about 6" long. I find them vastly superior. You can reach into more places. You can get them for just a little more $ that Q-tips at the corner pharmacy or medical supply store.

Also, why do you have Zaino QD and Meguiars QD? Personally, I am not a fan of Meguiars.

I usually use the Meg`s for last-minute touch-ups in the engine bay!

Z is a little expensive for the E-Bay!

Thanks for the tips on the medical swabs........my next purchase!

Luster, would you mind listing what`s in your magic bag? I`m pulling my stuff together this afternoon. And, with Brad`s encouragement, I`m not gonna take a foot-locker full o` stuff.

Lynn, we need to talk engine compartment sometime. For my XK I always took:

Aluminum silver paint (this could double as brush)

Gloss Black spray paint (this could double as brush)

Flat Black spray paint (this could double as brush)

Never Dull/Semichrome

QD

Glass Cleaner

Matte Vinyl Dressing/tire dressing

Gloss Rubber Dressing/wire dressing

Wheel well/lower engine dressing

Large Tape or Lint Roller

Brake Cleaner Spray

Medical Swabs

MF Towels/Waffle Towels/Cheap Towels

Art brushes/foam brushes

This seems like a lot but I always buy smaller uniform pump bottles for all my liquids. I pack everything and more in the boot of the XK 150.

90% of the work was done onsite in the engine bay. The paints and polishes were the items I were most glad I had!

That`s my basic car-show kit.......

Forgive me if I forgot any.....

Awesome Bill. Here is mine. I don`t have all my products layed out but you get the idea. All of my Qd`s, waxes, glass cleaners, mf towels, etc fit inside my Black and Decker carry crate. The rest fit in the pockets of the Meguiars bucket.

I also carry:

Medical Qtips

QD for engine bay etc

Waffle weave or Absorber in case of rain

Meg foam apps

MF towels

Craft sponge brushes (great for applying dressing to engine and for those hard to reach places)

Lint brush

Masking tape (to pick up dirt etc)

JB... WOW....I thought I was organized....:bow

How do you like using the cans of compressed air. Does it do a good job of removing dust etc from the engine bay??? I have always wanted to try that idea.

I would not be without cans of compressed air. I mainly use them to help clean the alloys ie Spray final inspection into the lug nuts, and use the compressed air to dry etc.

I also use the compressed air around the door jams, door handles and dusting inside etc.

Use of compressed air cans on the engine, really depends on the engine, since you cannot tip the cans upside down. Because of the location of a Boxster engine, the cans of compressed airs are less effective.

1st question is for JB of Irvine. Great looking kits. Where do you get the spayer and dispenser bottles. I am guessing Container Store or are these nalgene ie: RIE camping store. Nice Pelican style cases.

2nd question. In the 1st picture what type of bag is this?

Thanks guy`s great effort.

Yes container store. Also got the cases there as well. They sell the foam inserts that have "pull out" cubes that allow you to completely customise the shape.
