Whisk broom substitute?

For years I`ve carried a whisk broom to get rid of the little stuff that accumulates between vacuming times.



I`m sick of the darned straw coming out of the whisk broom and having to pick them out of the carpet pile where they become stuck like glue!



What would be a good substitute for the ole whisk broom? And where can I get it? Come to think of it I don`t think I`ve seen anything of this sort in any of the detailing web sites I`ve perused this last few months.
