Hello,
Due to the confusing/conflicting terminology used by megs., could some please tell me if I am correct in my thinking here?
Swirl Free Polish = a true polish, ie abrasive
Hand Polish = a glaze, ie not very abrasive, if abrasive at all.
Thank you,

Yup.
A better way to look at it is:
SWP = #9
HP = #7
One from Body Shop line, the other from Mirror Glaze line.

Correct.
Swirl Free Polish is to #9 as Hand Polish is to #7.

Thanks for the very fast replies. These lead me to ask:
1) Is the #9 the same formulation as Swirl Free Polish. If not, which is the stronger or milder of the two?
I already have some #9 and don`t want to basically "double up" if they`re the same product. I thought perhaps the Swirl Free might be milder and could be used more frequently?
2) Same for the #7 vs HP. Same formulation or different products?
Again, don`t want to double up needlessly.
Thanks again,
face

I`ve researched the abrasiveness scale of Meguiar`s products in these forums and found out that #9 is LESS abrasive than the Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner--which is what I have. Is there that much difference, or is Deep Crystal sufficient for removing those swirls?

IMO #9 is much better for removing swirls. I found this out when I repaired some paint chips on my hood. The wetsanding left some haze and the DCS Paint Cleaner would barely touch it, but the #9 removed it completely. Use the #9 it`s a much better product.

Call your local Meguiars dealer or any bodyshop supply store.

How does #9 work when applying by hand, or should I forget it without a PC?
