I`ll be doing a full detailing job this weekend on my Solo I car. The problem is I have leftover sticker residue on the doors from the mandatory stickers that I attached at the last event.

Doing a search I`ve seen suggestions of Goo Gone (apparently softens the paint), WD40 (inconsistent opinions on how safe it is on paint) and 3M Adhesive Remover (can`t find it anywhere around here).

Any other suggestions? Would using the PC and SMR get rid of it or just smear it?

Thanks!

Alcohol will remove it with ease. Here is an article on debadging your car, this gives all the advice you need http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=13887

Or just spray on goof off or goo gone or ones of those made for getting rid of sticky stuff. It`s $3 at a hardware store.

When I debaded a car I actually used Clay Bar which worked unbelievably good and quick. Take a small chunk of your clay and just use it like you would on any other area of your car. The adhesive will come right off!

i haven`t tried it, but i`ve seen an automotive goo-gone. personally, i`d try alcohol first.

I use 3M Adhesive remover. Got it at PEP Boys.

The stuff is great, I used it to remove the pinstripe on my 1990 Accord, it came right off with no problems.
