I think the acronym list is being updated (HINT< HINT) as we speak.

If there is something not on the list please don`t hesitate to ask. You know when you were in school and hesitated to ask a question for fear of looking stupid, then someone is bold and asked the question and everyone says "Yah"? Be that person. :wavey

S100 is the same as P21S but different labling. Its marketed toward motorcycle companies (mainly Harley Davidson). GEPC is Gloss Enhancing Paint Cleanser and SEC is Shine Enhancing Cleanser. GEPC is by P21S and SEC is by S100. The S100 you hear so much about is probably their Carnauba Wax. S100 costs less than P21S.

well, here`s what i`m planning so far for my jet black car:

1) pinnacle clay

2) 3M SMR + 3M FI-II MP by PC

3) Klasse AIO & SG again w/ PC

4) followed by P21S

i`ve got quite a bit of swirlmarks & scratches on my late `01 - i hope all of this will work; i`m new at detailing obviously!

whady`all think?

kidsdoc- Welcome to Autopia. Your plan looks good. A few people have had marring with the Pinnacle Poly Clay on black BMW`s. I can`t remember when/where the posts were for the life of me, but anyhow, just a heads-up. Use the FI-II before the SMR (couldn`t tell if that`s what you`d planned). It might take a while to get the flaws out with the FI-II. Either be patient or use a more aggressive product. When applying the SG by PC, be careful you don`t put it on unevenly or too thick. I let it dry overnight to make removal easier, others wait two hours or so. I`d put on a few layers of SG before topping with the P21S.

Good online retailers include:

CMA (http://www.properautocare.com/)

Top of the Line (http://www.topoftheline.com/index.html)

Griot`s Garage (http://www.griotsgarage.com/)

You might want to run any planned purchases past the forum to make sure you stay on the right track as you get started.

Accumulator, thanks for the advice, what are you referring to by "marring"? also, i was under ther belif that you start out w/ the least harsh polishes first, such as the smr, & then move on to harsher ones such as FI-II for places that require it, such as scratches, etc.? true or false? thanks again! :up
