Okay, I just ordered a slew of MFs from PakShak, and have decided to use Poorboys EX.

Now, I am going to order the Meguiars Gold Class wash, I`ve used this wash before, but not with this sealant. Is it going to be compatible? I am also eyeing a MF wash mitt, whats everyone think about this?

I also want to use the P21S/S100 GEPC after my swirl removal step, will this be compatible with the Poorboys or does it contain carnuaba? I`ve been told it is compatible with sealants.

I will also be picking up some DACP for my more troublesome swirls, as well as some 3M SMR for the lighter step.

As well as the "Meguiars Overspray Removal" clay.

I`m also probably going to pick up Poorboys QD.

I will also be picking up new pads for my PC, probably the CMA yellow pads and then some sort of a finishing pad (black?)

Any comments or suggestions. I wanna order this stuff tonight if I can.

Thanks guys your help has been invaluable :bounce

The only thing I wouldn`t recommend on there is the Meguiar`s clay. Get Mother`s or Clay Magic blue if you can. Much more effective and easier to use.

DACP and SMR are a great combo, but I think that eventually, you`ll find the you start skipping the SMR.

I have not used the rest, so I`ll let others comment.

I have used the Clay Magic before, where can I find it online, CMA doesn`t sell it.

Also, where can I find the DACP, CMA doesnt seem to have it either.

I`m also confused about pads, I`m figuring yellow for the DACP and/or the SMR, a white for the GEPC and a grey for the EX?

Compatible with sealant? Sure, I don`t see why not.

I`m not sure about that part... using GEPC/SEPC before sealing the paint. As far as I know, that may cause small problems with bonding.

From what I`m told, Meg`s clay sucks. Clay Magic, available at many Autozones / Pep Boys and various other places (even some Wal-Marts), is much better. I`d go w/ that.

About swirl removal: I dunno if you`d really wanna use the stronger one, DACP, on a yellow and then use a more mild one, SMR, on white. Why not try SMR on yellow? Best to start with the least aggressive combo, you know.

But yeah, I`m sure it`s gonna look great! :xyxthumbs

You can find them here (http://www.premiumautocare.com) for example.

Thanks!

One more question about the clay, whats the difference between the fine and medium grades? Both are the same price.

If your car is ok, normal condition use the fine. It`ll not cause scratches (normally) and will do the job.

If your car is neglected, with lots of rail dust and other contaminants, use the medium grade, and prepare to use more agressive polishers as well.

Fine it is.

Now I`ve found the DACP, do you all honestly think I need both the DACP and the 3M SMR for light colored paints? am I being overkill or will I need to use the SMR after the DACP to remove marring from the DACP?

And also, just to make sure it doesnt get lost, are the GEPC and GC wash going to be compatible with the EX sealant?

You guys are great...

Are you in need of the DACP in the first place? what`s the cars condition?

If you really want to remove swirls use it, skip the smr then. The GEPC is enough to finish the prep job.

Just a heads up.....the old Meguiars Overspray Clay does suck, but they have recently introduced two new clays which I`ve used and are excellent. Colors are Maroon and Gold, don`t remember the difference.

Just mentioning this in case you don`t feel like running to a Autoparts store to buy the Claymagic.

Do you have a pic or a link to the new clay? I`d curious to try some out.

2wheelsx2,

Don`t know why Meguiars doesn`t have them listed on their website but here are the part numbers and descriptions that I found in their "Professional Surface Care" Product Guide Catalog

Detailing Clay-200 grams

Gold - Mild Grade (Part # D6100)

Burgundy - Agressive Grade (D6200)

Have no idea how much they cost,

The paint condition isn`t bad, some swirls, some light straightline scratching that was caused by using the carwash, and some minor oxidation and water spot etching on the hood only. You think the DACP is neccisary? Other than this I have a brand new Lexus that has no swirls, so really I`d only use the DACP for this vehicle once I suppose.

It`d probably at least be a good addition to my garage in case I should ever need it.

As for the clay, I found Clay Magic on the site that was posted, and they have the DACP too so I`ll just order it there.

Steve emailed me back and said the GEPC will work jusfine :D

One suggestion . . . more pads. I try to have two of each grade of pad on hand in case I should be a klutz and drop one (not an infrequent occurence, unfortunately), or in case the first pad gets caked with polish that I can`t clean out by spurring the pad. You don`t necessariy need more; don`t get me wrong . . . it`s just nice to have backups on hand.
