I met up today with NYdetailer and we took a crack at detailing my 1999 Electron Blue Pearl Honda Civic Si. I will just let the pictures do the talking...

Damn but EBP is such an awesome color when clean. I really miss my 00 Si:( . Hearing the second cam switch over into VTEC with an AEM shorty was sooo much fun.

I have yet to see a blue that I like near as much as my old Si.

Great work the two of you :wavey .

Later this week I think NYdetailer and I decided to step up to a more abrasive polish to attack the minor swirls that still remain. So it will be stripped down, and polished further, then shined back up. I am sure we can get this thing to shine even better, stay tuned. :xyxthumbs

Every time i look at those i hear the voice of Mike Meyers and Madona going "it`s like butta"

I will admit it`s a pretty slick color when done right....

But yes the black ones are the fastest :D :rofl

one more for the SI lovers:

Bah...! You Si boys and your shines. Don`t make me get my GSR brothers in here to lay the smack down. lol :lol ;) That SSBP is a really awesome color though. I saw a GSR Sedan that color a bout a year after I bought mine. Sometimes I wonder if I would have been as happy... White is just so easy to maintain. Tough decision. Those do look great though. :xyxthumbs

That`s not Supersonic Blue Pearl! This is Supersonic Blue Pearl:

This colour changes from purple to bright blue to royal blue depending on the light and angle. Not the greatest picture to show off the shine but it does show the colour.

Currently the colour is more like Flat Dull Grey :( Bring on the summer.

That is true. My bad. I`m not up to date on my Civic colors. My wife calls it barney purple but I keep telling her that its nowhere near purple. That Si Blue is awesome. I like SSBP better though. Its darker I think. I`ve never seen them side by side to compare though. What color is the Si blue called anyway?

The Si blue is Electron Blue Pearl. My mechanic has an SiR (Canadian Si) and when the two are side by side the difference in colour is quite striking.

He wants to get his car painted the colour of mine... I want his 400hp turbocharged engine in my car though :)

We now return you to your normal, unhijacked thread...
