Folks, newbie at engine cleaning, so I beg for your indulgence. Attached are pics of my engine (2000 BMW 540 V8). What parts do I need to cover so I don`t screw this up? I have the CD2 engine cleaning kit, is it an ok product? Thanks for the anticipated help!

Your engine bay looks pretty clean. You don`t need to cover anything if you`re not anticipating using a hose. (you won`t need a hose for your engine)....

I`m not familiar with the CD2 kit, but once you get it clean. Dress the rubber hoses and plastic parts with a Plastic and Rubber dressing of your choice. (Including black wire loom)....

If the CD2 kit involves spraying your engine, cover the electronic ignition and alternator.

You`re lucky because you are starting with a fairly clean engine.

I LOVE the CD2 kit. That is going to make your engine look awesome. I would just recommend taking your time and using a bucket of soap and water. Get some shop rags and go at it. There doesn`t look to be much need for degreasing that motor, but I guess you could start there anyway. It never hurts to get it extra clean. That is clean enough that it shouldn`t take much time.

I have never heard of cd2 also. Where can you find it?
