this one? (http://store.yahoo.com/porter-cable/porcab746var.html)

or this one? (http://www.toolmarts.com/pc_7424.html)

I found these 2 places but I dont know if it comes with what I need. Which of these places are best? Are these fair prices? What other products should I be looking into if I have regular types of swirl marks and a good share of spiderwebbing? ANY/ALL help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Is the 7424 the best bet or should I go with the 7336? Im so confused as to which model adn where to get it!

It doesn`t matter. They both work pretty much the same. Get the 7424. Don`t think about it. Just get that one. :) I just saved you the trouble of laboring over the decision. :D Actually, I suggest that one because its the one that I use. I`ve never used the 7336 but it seems that the majority use the 7424. I`d get that one because I know that its the one that most stores have the extra parts for. It doesn`t work better or worse than the 7336, its just easier to find I think.

As far as where to go, just go to www.google.com and look for Porter Cable 7424 and that will produce a whole host of online stores. Or you could go to properautocare.com or premiumautocare.com. They both have Porter Cable areas and sell pads and backing plates. Coastaltool.com is another source. Lowes Home Improvement stores carry them. I`ve heard that you can get them at other hardware and home improvement stores too. Just do some looking. :xyxthumbs

If you`re going to use CMA`s backing plate and pads then buy 7336SP from Lowe`s for $109 since it comes with 6" counterweight that you`ll need with 6" pads.

This is the best info on PC I`ve found so far by Autopia`s own geekysteve:

Porter Cable for Beginners (http://bimmer.roadfly.org/bmw/forums/detailing/forum.php?postid=1430487&page=1)

...and of course 4DSC`s thread.;)

Wow recently we have seen so many threads on RO`s.

The 7424 is a fine choice. PC is the random orbital of choice for Autopians...

For those of u trying to buy an RO and dont know what to choose go for the PC. I havent used anything else, but I wouldnt recommend to use your car as a lab rat to experiment on. The majority of the voices here will recommend the PC. Listen to them they all use the PC and know it works. I use the PC....

Unless you`re really stuck I say try to get some 7336 model because the heavier weight reduces vibrations no matter what backing pad you end up using (5" or 6"). The 7424 and 733x are otherwise identical machines.
