I have been lurking around for a few months now and finally have a question that I couldn`t find a search for. Car care online sent me a catalog, and in it they say that German paints do not react well with acrylic waxes. I know alot of people here use klasse + p21s (this is what I am wanting to change to), but is there any truth to their claim.

This has been discussed many times but the simple answer is there is not a known problem with Klasse and paint from any country.

I`ve just used Klasse AIO, HGSG and P21S as topper. Looks fantastic! I`m glad I used it. The paint is incredibly slick, and deep, wet looking. I used to take CCS as gospel, but glad I went the Klasse route.

It would be ironic if it were, considering where Klasse was devolped.

I had the same concerns after reading the same material. Simply not an issue. He says that a lot of products will cloud german paints, but never had that experience. In the other threads discussing this subject, his application and removal methods may be the problem, not the products.

I think "clouding" is more a reference to the shiny plastic look of a synthetic vs the deep rich shine of a carnauba. Its all opinion anyway.

Years ago, some synthetic waxes (meguires #20 comes to mind) would haze up or "cloud" some paints. This was noticed on german cars, and was probably due the abrasives in the system. I have seen some hazing problems with KLASSE that were unexplained during the winter months, especially with carnuba toppers, but recently, there have been no issues.



I would not worry about using KLASSE on your car. If its new and in good condition, I would skip AIO though and go right to SG.



Guess I could say my paint is clouded up too....hehehe

An important thing to note is that KLASSE was developed in the 70`s, and I am not sure how different todays formula is from the original. Paint systems have come a long way since then. Again, not necessarily a bad thing, just something to keep in mind.

Do you use Klasse on your boat? I was thinking of using it on our 31` Searay but worried it would be inpossible to see on white gelcoat.



I had bought 3M Machine Glaze and had planned to top with 3M Marine Wax.



Any thoughts?

I never tried klasse on the boat. If I did, I would use AIO. 3M compounds are good, their marine wax I found difficult to buff off and not that durable.

Car Care Online = Larry Reynolds and if you do some searching there`s some of his advice that tends to be disagreed with here, so I would take some of his claims or advice with a grain of salt. My 2 cents.

FWIW - Some BMW dealerships sell Klasse over the counter at their parts department. The dealers get it through a relationship w/ the distributor and BMW AG.
