A friend of mine purchased a new `03 Accord Coupe, and he had to leave for the airport right after. I invited his Graphite Pearl
beauty to sleep over for a week, and also gave it a 20-30 min. detail each night. My friend is coming back tomorrow, so I`m doing the final touches this afternoon.
Clean:
I QD`d the exterior, wheelwells, doorjambs, wheels, and all the underbody aft of the rear suspension.
Prep:
The Accord had the typical dealer detail. The major sections of the roof, trunk, and hood were smooth, but the edges of them, and everything else wasn`t. There was dressing overspray on the wheelcovers, bird etching, minor pits and imperfections on the paint, but no swirls.
I clayed by hand with Clay Magic Blue, and polished by PC with Meguiar`s #5 New Car Glaze and the Lake Country white polishing pad.
Protect:
I applied a layer of Blackfire II. I let it dry overnight, and buffed it later in the morning. As usual, it was hard to buff off, but the drying seemed to make it smear less.
