There appear to be two types of "soft" top material I have seen on convertables. One is a vinyl type material and the other a woven dyed canvas type material. I know that convertables are a small portion of all cars made so there may not be a lot of experience here on the board but......does anyone have any recommendations for cleaning the woven type of material? I usually just vaccuum the dust off out of fear that a chemical soap might cause the fabric to deteriorate quicker. Any advise as to what "washing" product is the best or will regular "Car Wash Detergent" be ok?...Thanks...Michael P.

I use the Amazing Roll off and RaggTop protectant. They work great together. The Amazing Roll Off causes no color fading and actually draws out dirt the is embedded in the fabric. It is good with stains and sap removal ( if that`s a problem).

The RaggTop is the recommended protectant by the GM manufacturer (Haartz) of my top. After application the top beads as well as the paint. Both products are easy to use and paint friendly.:bounce

For more info about your fabric top you can go this link:http://www.haartz.com/Product_Lines/ext/Auto_Topping/ATT_Page_1/tabled_tops/automotive_topping.htm

There are other fine products offered by CMA that has also received positive results.

Hope this helps.:wavey
