I need some advice on what to use after washing the car. should I be using a Instant detailer

ie mother`s showtime, or meguiars quik detailer,

or is it better to use some kind of spray on wax, like meguiars quik wax (or some other spray on).

Is there a difference between a instant detailer and a spray wax?

ps. I use mothers carnauba wax on my car.

Thanks.

If you use mothers carnuba wax on your car and are happy with it then I suggest a spray wax/detailer that has that same carnuba or oil mixture/look on it. Mothers will work fine.

Some detailers have small amounts of wax in them. The Spray waxes, like Eagle One Wax As You Dry(?) probably has a little more wax in it than most detail sprays, but it isn`t enough to protect like a good coat of wax does.

After a wash, I recommend using a detail spray. There are many good ones, like Meguiars Final Inspection availible locally.

I`ve used Final Inspection, Quik Detailer, and Mothers Showtime, and I love Mothers Showtime better than all of them.

It applies easier, comes right off, and leaves no streaking.
