This is what I did, my car had etched water spots all over the body. PC did not get rid of them. So I used Porter Cable 7428 rotary polisher :
1. Using yellow pad, with Meguiars Premium Paint Cleaner, 1700 rpm,
2. White pad, Meguiars Swirl Remover 2.0 #9, 1000 rpm
3. Klasse AIO 2 coats by hand
4. Klasse SG 2 coats by hand
Looks great from a distance. Yet, today, under bright sunlight at the right angle, I can still see swirl similar to that one sees after compounding with 3M Fine Cut Compund. What should I do to get rid of the swirl?:scared

first off, DRESS THE TIRES!!! It`ll complete the look, when not looking at the swirls.
I have gotten all the swirls I have been faced with out with Meguiar`s #83. You`ll prob. need to go to a auto body warehouse/store to get it. Medium polish.

You might also give DACP a shot. I`ve had great results with it for more stubborn swirls.

How about 3M Finesse it III? I think there is at least one good thread about it around here. I guess it actually removes swirls instead if hiding them. I`ll be trying it this spring for my black GP.

What is DACP? I can`t find it in the acronym section.
So what u guys saying is use more aggressive polish than Meg`s #9 Swirl Remover 2.0?
After polishing with one of those, back to Megs #9, and lastly #2 Machine Polish before wax?
Thanks for all your replies

What did you use to apply and buff by hand?

To apply: MF pad,
Buff, MF towel. All bought from CMA.

1750 RPM on the rotary might be a little strong. I stay at 1250, and 1000 for plastic parts.
DACP is Mequiar`s Dual Action Cleaner Polish. It is a mild to medium polish similiar to many others.
Fillers and many glazes hide swirls for awhile, but they reappear after a few days...
If you are using a rotary buffer, keep the pad slow and flat, look INTO your work as you go, and inspect with 50/50 alcohol spray/MF towel

okay, if I want to start over, should I wash the car first with Dawn OR apply DACP right away? Remember I have a few coats of cured Klasse SG as of now.

BlackMonster you must be related to me (GreenMonster) :D
Maybe try to use the PC after the rotatory to help remove the buffer marks that the rotatory might put in. I have had great results on black cars with my PC and Meguiar`s DACP. :xyxthumbs

I`m using 3M P-III with my PC at a setting of 5. Use a little and keep working it in until you see that rich black shinny look of a wet product and then wipe it off.
That should do the trick. It did for me on my black Vette!!
