I was reading the back of 3M`s SMR, and I noticed it`s called a "glaze" a lot. Which, of course, only fills in swirls and light scratches and does nothing to remove them.

So, does SMR really *remove* swirls and not just hide them? Any other recommendations?

3M-SMR does infact remove swirls; however, it does have some fillers in it so you can spray a 50/50 mixture of denatured alcohol and water onto your paint to remove the fillers and expose the actual look of the clearcoat to see if the swirls have been removed.

Polaris, check out some of the stuff on this recent thread and the last few posts near the bottom: http://www.autopia.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18280&highlight=glaze+smr

Hope that helps...
