I am not using Z5, only Z1 and Z2. My last coat of Z2 on the Land Cruiser was in early October, so about 3 and a half months ago.

My question is, If i want to put another coat of Z2 on today, is it nescesarry to use Z1 first?

The water still beads, and the finish is still pretty slick, so the Z is obviously still on the car.

If I recall correctly, you only need to use Z1 every six months or every 10 coats. Should be OK to just slap on some Z2 (and then wait for it to dry).

I would use Z1 first just to be on the safe side it only take 10 minutes to put some Z1 on

A good Z7 wash would do the trick. But as mentioned earlier a Z1 application would not hurt anything. If you are only going to layer every 3 -4 months I personally would do the Z1 step. It takes a little longer (2 layers drying ( Z1 & Z2)) but you are assured of maximum bonding. A better choice would be to get some ZFX. This would not only shorten the drying time but also again insure proper bonding to finish.:xyxthumbs
