View Full Version : Blackfire on black SVT Focus

As some of you may have read in my other post, my girlfriend recently purchased a 2002 SVT Focus. Today she came over and we spent a couple hours detailing it, since it has been raining and windy the last couple days it was pretty nasty.
We didn`t clay the car because of time restraints and it didn`t really need it (well, I would`ve done it if it was my car... but she vetoed the clay and SMR because we didn`t have all day to spend). So we just washed it with Meguiars gold class shampoo, then applied Blackfire polish (not the reformulated stuff) with the orbital and a coat of Blackfire AFPP by hand with a foam applicator. Using microfiber for drying and to buff off all products of course :D Then Meguiars Endurance on the tires, 303 on all plastic & rubber trim, Stoners Invisible Glass on windows, and Plexus on all the clear plastic parts.
I think it looks pretty darn good. There are a few very minor swirls that the dealer caused when they washed it (even though we told them not too :mad: ) but you have to really look hard to see them (even in bright sunlight).

Ugh... the escort. That`s my mom`s old car, it has a blown headgasket and for some reason I offered to fix it for them to help save money. Now she has an Explorer so the escort has gone to my backburner for a while ;)

One queston, do you have a pic of the front? The head lights look odd in that one pic... THX

Time for an engine swap. Maybe you can find another SVT Focus engine and make it fit. It would be a heck of a sleeper.

Window tint is coming soon... it`s on the top of the list ;)
Shannon and I are driving to the mountains tomorrow to take some pictures of the SVT and my WRX together... so I`ll post more pictures tomorrow. And I`ll dig up some pictures of Shannon too :p ;)
The headlights do look wierd in that pic for some reason.. I`ll make sure to get some good shots of the front tomorrow.

I agree :-)
Scott, SVT focus isn`t really a drag car. more of a handling package, even though there is some beefy engine there. Now a cobra, or cobra R engine would be nice!

Unless of course you were to add something like a Jackson Racing supercharger or a turbo kit :D

Just love those shiny black cars! :xyxthumbs Your SVT focus looks great. Also, I agree that tinted windows would be a plus.

What engine is that in the Focus?
We have the Focus ST170 with 2.0 16v 170 BHP and the Focus RS with 2.0 16v turbo and 220 BHP, and apparently soon are getting a 300 BHP Cosworth Focus :shocked :xyxthumbs
